H5W is a practical starting point for everyday people learning to use AI. Every page should help a reader make a decision or complete a real task—not simply promote a tool or chase a keyword.

H5W is written and edited by Nick Cave.

Who H5W Is For

H5W is written in plain American English for beginners and non-technical readers, especially people in North America using AI for work, school, home, job searches, or a small business.

A useful H5W guide should answer three questions early:

  1. Is AI appropriate for this task?
  2. What is the simplest safe way to do it?
  3. What should the reader check before using the result?

How Topics Are Chosen

H5W starts with a reader's task or decision, not an AI brand. Topics are selected when they can provide a clear outcome, an honest explanation of limitations, and useful next steps.

H5W does not publish generic AI news unless an update changes what an ordinary user can do, pay, download, share, or safely upload.

Research and Verification

When a claim can change, H5W prefers current primary sources such as official product documentation, help centers, pricing pages, privacy policies, terms, and government guidance.

Where practical, H5W also tests the workflow described. Tests use fictional, public, or safely sanitized material. H5W does not intentionally upload a reader's confidential information to an AI service for testing.

Important limitations are included when relevant, such as:

  • whether an account or payment card is required;
  • what the free plan actually allows;
  • export formats, watermarks, credits, or usage caps;
  • privacy and file-handling concerns;
  • common failure points; and
  • a simpler or safer alternative.

H5W does not invent prices, limits, capabilities, customer claims, ratings, or endorsements.

Published, Updated, and Information Last Verified

These dates mean different things:

  • Published is when the page first became public.
  • Updated is when the page received a meaningful content change.
  • Information Last Verified is when changing facts—such as features, limits, or privacy settings—were last checked.

A wording or formatting edit does not automatically reset the verification date.

Reviews, Comparisons, and Ratings

Recommendations focus on task fit, ease of use, real free-plan value, output quality, privacy considerations, exports, accessibility, and important limitations.

A higher price, larger feature list, affiliate payment, or popular brand name does not automatically make a tool the better choice. When H5W has not fully tested a feature, the page should say what was verified from official information and what remains untested.

Use of AI in the Editorial Process

H5W may use AI to help brainstorm questions, organize research notes, explore an outline, improve clarity, or support a workflow test. AI assistance is not treated as a source and does not make the publication decision.

Nick Cave is responsible for selecting the topic, reviewing the sources, checking important claims, editing the final copy, and deciding whether it is ready to publish. Pages should add practical value beyond automatically generated text.

Images and Evidence

H5W may use original AI-generated artwork as a Featured image or decorative illustration. Generated artwork is not evidence of a product interface, setting, limit, result, or person.

When a visual is used as evidence, H5W uses a real screenshot or source material created for the test and removes private information where necessary.

Editorial Independence and Commercial Relationships

H5W may earn money from advertising, affiliate links, sponsorships, or partnerships. A material commercial relationship should be disclosed clearly and close to the relevant recommendation. Sponsors and affiliate programs do not receive control over H5W's conclusions.

See the Affiliate Disclosure for more information.

Corrections and Updates

If a factual error is confirmed, H5W aims to correct it promptly and update the page's date when the change is meaningful. Minor spelling, grammar, and formatting fixes may be made without a correction note.

To report an error, email [email protected] with the page URL, the statement you believe is wrong, and a reliable source when available.
